General Information

Finally, I did my last practicum period at E.S.B  N°306 in Bahía Blanca. This secondary public school is located in "Barrio Pacífico", that is ten blocks far from the centre of the town.
It is a small school where 319 students attend secondary level.
During this practicum period, I worked with 30 students which are attending the 2nd year, and working with them was the greatest challenge due to many factors.
To begin with, there are too many students studying in a really small classroom. That makes them become irritated as they are very close together for several hours.
To continue with, their schedule, left English lessons to the last two hours on Fridays.
Besides, as regards students themselves, they are a talkative group, and due to they are facing a complex period as it is adolescence, they tend to "rebel" teachers and parents, and to do what they want. So, it was more difficult for me to motivate them and make them work than it was in the two previous periods.
However, creating a good and friendly atmosphere, designing a variety of short and different activities; using TICs and different kinds of material; as well as resorting to different strategies, helped me to reach good results and left satisfied at the end of the period.
